Not very knowledgeable on these things but....since fitting race cans on my Falco my urban fuel consumption has become really bad but my long distance riding consumption has dramatically improved. Bike is stock UK spec with the ECU de-restricted. Is this normal? Any ideas welcome

Thanks

Maybe you are blasting around town more than usual to hear the new lovely sound but on the motorway you are taking it steadier so that you aren't deaf when you get off it at the other end?! lol, maybe not.

In every motorcycle i put a better air filter, like K&N, i see great improvement at fuel consumption, probably more air going in, better the air-fuel mix. Also a new ECU chip will help, Factory Pro, Arrow, BBpower e.t.c

The reason is very simple, your bike is running rich at low speeds and possibly ideal at higher ones, cutting the wire simply adds more fuel,Try connecting it back and find out, or have the carbs balanced (yes, the bodies )
