I'm on my third aprilia clutch and it's started to slip -again.
Anyone tried the Barnett version? Or recommend any different?

Have you seen the previous threads on oil grade / type, 02Mille clutch plates, polishing shafts (??), etc?
OOI, Are you still running the std airbox?

I'm running a rene airkit and semi-synth oil after a fully synth feck-up which caused the original plates to slip.
02 plates are better? (Mine's a 2000 Mille R)

This has nothing to do with hammering the downshifts?
Unlike on my previous big bore twins where if I didn't match the revs *exactly* I knew it immediately, now on the RSV I can hardly tell and I've got to be really sloppy to feel it.
Yet something must happen every time, so I suspect the slipper clutch must be wearing the plates out without my knowing about it.

Geo,
Have you actually checked your plates? I was on my second clutch at 6K miles. My second clutch was slipping and pulled out of the bike at 14K miles (at Rockingham) and there was no sign of plate wear! We scratched up the steels which stopped it slipping but then there was the trouble getting it into neutral at a standstill!
Anyway, you probably won't find that the plates are worn all that much...

No, no problems with mine at 8k miles (knock on wood).
Then again I don't do trackdaze and due to a number previous Ducatis and such I've gotten used to "almost never" use mine -and be very attentive to on downshifts. Although I'm getting sloppy again due that slipper clutch.
I'm still curious if overuse of the slipper doesn't shorten it's life.

The last time I had clutch slip was when it fell off the workbench! No seriously, after fitting my airkit the slip got worse all of a sudden. I found the reason.
During fitment of the airkit I had accidentally blocked the slipper clutch bypass hole on the top of the throttle bodies (I'd made a gasket to seal the warped airkit base but failed to make a hole for the PPC bypass hole). So the PPC breather couldnt depressurise (there would still be a vaccum in the line) even when accelerating at high revs. Hence, my clutch slipped.
Since clearing the hole, Ive had no clutch slip at all even on the track. The bike just leaves big black lines exiting the corners
Thought it was worth mentioning just in case this is your problem too.

With a new clutch? Not surprising!
Just wait 3k miles. Mine's just barely coping at the mo.
