I just put on my new Tommiselli Clip-ons, which give a nicer hand position (Higher and closer, but just a 1 minute job to drop back to "racer")
Anyway, the factory braided lines on my 01 RSV are too short. I was told It's possible to cut the line and insert a 'joiner' extension in it. This would give about an extra 45mm length.
Buying a new set of lines is expensive so I was looking at the cheeper options.
Whats your thoughts "Oh Great Internet God"?

Just go to a local hydraulic engineer, and get some braided line to the length you want. It'll cost you maybe 20-30 dollars, also get yourself some new nylon collets which they should be able to supply.
Then drain the brake fluid out. Snap the connectors on the lines replace the line and colletts and do up, then blead, and there you have it.
It is really easy. I've done them many times over the years. And I have a friend who happens to be a Hydraulic Engineer so he just cuts to length, gets me the connectors and colletts, and away I go.
Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers. But what are the colletts?
Snap the connectors on the lines?
All sounds too simple!
I presume that these will be no less effective than normal braided lines?

The little nylon collets fit over the hose but between the nut and the banjo screw. They are a seal. Sort of an expanded washer.
When you crack the nuts on the banjo bolts on the calipers you'll see them, and know what they are.

P.S Don't go the extender route. Far better to make them custom for your needs.
PPS If you knew really how easy it is, you'd probably go into the business of making them. (heh, heh, heh....)

Just drop the yokes down the forx till the brakelines are long enough. Simple and free.
Stop when the front wheel hits the fairing.
I am a genius!

I couldnt find the bars on the Tommiselli website but got them from a local accessories dealer here in New Zealand www.motomail.co.nz
They were $215 NZ which is about US $100
I had to get the 52 mm clamps and paid US$10 to have them milled out 1mm
