Would you use semi-synth or mineral oil at your first 600 mile (1000km) service for your RSV? What Oil did you use?
Mines a 2001/2002 bike and the dealer says they are going to put in 15/50 Semi-synthetic oil.

But its obviously still got a way to go till it's run in, so I would have expected to use mineral oil for at least the first 1800 miles (3000km) to help it fully run in.

Wont using semi-synthetic so early result in a much longer period till it reaches full Hp?

Whats your thoughts?

On the contrary, semi synthetic allows wear to occur essential to the bedding in process.

Some say that a consequence of using fully synthetic is clutch slip and an engine that won't ever run in fully. Check out some of the old threads archives and this one still live in the Falco area:

Falco SL1000: Oil consumption

Btw same engine mechnicals, slight clutch differences between Falco & Mille but you can really ignore them on this particular topic.
