Has anyone read (or got) the August 2001 issue of Performance Bike. It has a suspension setup guide for the RSV.
What do they say?
Is it worth tracking down the mag to get the info?
Any tips are appreciated.

If I remember right it wasnt worth the paper it was written on (no surprise there then). They ended up with all the rear damping on max didnt they?

I had the mag and tried the set up and the bike handled like a bag-o-shite. I went back to factory settings and that works for me. I'm 6 foot and 12.5 stone. If your bigger It may be right for you, but sorry can't find the mag now, thought I had it.

There settings are absolutely crap !!!! tried them, quoted them too a number of Suspension set up companies( with out telling them where I got them from ) they all laughed saying they were not suprised my Mille would not handle. Too much preload front and rear bike weaved at high speed . These are the settings recomended by 2 companies for me 168ibs in gear, remember these are too suit me
front : preload 5 lines showing
comp 1 turn( from fully closed)
rebound 1 1/4 turn
rear : preload 5- 10mm static sag
comp 18 clicks ( from fully closed )
rebound 15 clicks
believe me it transformed the bike

I had a copy of the 2001 Performance Bike write up on the RSV. I found the following web page excellent. Once you log onto it, got to the quick links section and select riding tips. This has been written by a riding instructor, and ex racer he is pretty informative. I tried the setup from the Perf Bike mag, but remember
that every bike must be set up for each rider and
their style. What may suit you for your type
of riding may not suit the next person. Generally I have had made minor changes to my own bike, as being 92Kg's I found when setting up the static and race sag, I had to wind on an extra 8mm's below the min recommended in the manual. Result, new (Eibach) stiffer spring. had the sag set up by suspension specialists, and it handles like a dream.
My setting are as follows,
Rear Preload now 132mm (stiffer spring)
Raised rear ride height 2 mm
Compression Damping 21 from full in
Rebound 14 From full in
Front Preload 4 lines
Rebound 2 from full in
Comp Damp 1 3/4 from full in.
View the web site provided, and set the bike up from information gained....
