Its for a new 01 Mille and it will have a performance pipe, a PC3 and the Airbox 'removal' mod? Ride fast but safe

Again Scott, personal opinion. When I first bought mine I had standard gearing (17T front). I then put the 16T on and flip me. crazy low down pulling power and mid range. It made changing gears quickly a neccessity though.
I bought the Rene twin cans and airbox thing (what is the proper name for it ) and found I was changing gears ridiculously early too. My top end was weak - probably due to the 16T sprocket - although on my previous RSV it was ok.
With the extra ooomph of the airkit thing and exhausts I went back to stock (17T front) gearing and, the bike is unreal now. I still have the low end and midrange grunt of the 16T but now I have extra top end too.
I suppose it depends on what mods you plan to make. If you get a slip on and an air filter/ air box kit then you should be fine with the 16T.
