NOW that is something I'd swap the Fazer for!! Looks absolutely incredible IMO!
By Geo on Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 03:51 pm: |
Not quite finished but incredible none the less.
Has anyone heard anything about the motor?
I heard rumors of them using the KTM/Rotax but that doesn't sound right.
25 lbs lighter would be a blessing but I don't think that mill could put out WSBK level hp and not blow up like a bomb.
Has anyone else noticed that L4s have lost 160 lbs over the last 15 yrs and the twins haven't been able to shed one pound?!!

Kinda like me then!
Seriously, that doesn't look like an 04 RSV to me. It's got the 03 forks and brakes, looks very SP-2 from the front.
Maybe....it's the new RSV-SP !

I like it all... with the exception of the front end. Honda have already done it.
I think Aprilia should keep the 'three eyes' look.
By Crmc33 on Monday, November 18, 2002 - 02:27 pm: |
Yes, Aprilia shouldnt waste time copying Honda's 'Japanese eyes'

04 RSV gets X-filed!
Aprilia has been contacting web sites that showed the 04 pix and has asked them to remove them.
They also claimed that it was not the next RSV-R but of a prototype for a limited "group" (homologation special?).
I don't buy it, I think that it was the Marlboro man making those phone calls, hu e-mails.
IMO that frame looked to costly not to be intended for mass production.
What do you guys think?

It's luvverly, that frame especially. But talking about the X-Files, someone should call Mulder & Scully and ask them to investigate the UFO that's landed on the pillion seat. Redesign the rear end, slim it down or something (anything!) and I'll sign on the line for one right now!

Check out the rear subframe with the hangers are fitted.
Not NEARLY done.

Back end looks like a ant carrying a canon in each hand ( or is it legs).
By Befbever on Thursday, November 28, 2002 - 12:25 pm: |
Where does it actually say it's an Aprilia anyway? Couldn't it be a Laverda?
Hello? Anyone?
By Crmc33 on Friday, November 29, 2002 - 12:10 am: |
Judging by the looks, it should say H*nda on the tank!
By Andyjfalco on Saturday, November 30, 2002 - 06:18 pm: |
Weird with potential is the best way to describe it.

Same pictures in mcn, plus they've done a graphic on how it would look painted up, the spaceship on the seat almost blends in with the rest of it. They speculate that it can't be a laverda as the boss want's to keep all three makes distinct.
