.. in a field in Stranrear before Aprilia shoved it into the sea.
I couldn't find Stranrear on multimap which rather supports my dealer's view that Aprilia UK couldn't run the parts division from Stranrear because nobody lives there.
So what's new?
Apparently, all parts needed in the UK are ordered from Italy over the Internet (and warranty claims are dealt with likewise).
This apparently will reduce the 28 days it took my dealer to get a Mille gearlever & fittings delivered to my door to around 7 days.
So removing the UK parts distributor will reduce delivery times. He seems happy, so I suppose we should be too.
Anyone got anything on the effect this change is having in turnaround times for parts & warranty claims?

As regard to warrant claims they must be made through a official Aprilia dealer because as you said they do indeed have to claim via the Internet and only current dealers have the password to access the site. Which brings me to the question of if you get a bike from a dealer and he stops being an official dealer but continues to service your bike, is the warranty still valid? And if he is asked about a warranty problem is this the reason for the excuses he gives as he trys to avoid the hassle of going through a third party or another branch of the dealership. Is this the real reason for the delay for parts and claims?.

all my warrenty claims (too many for my liking) where made through offical dealers (three diffrent ones) but not one from the dealer i got the bike from.

Just for anybody who doesn't know, the former UK HQ for Aprilia wasn't even in Stranraer, but a very small (as in VERY SMALL!!) village a good few miles away.
I drove through it a few months ago when on holiday down that way and almost missed it!
And it wasn't a caravan - it looked like an old cow shed!
