Get a two-stroke, dude. That's the thing to go racing on. Wei! Wei!

What power is it putting out Jim? 1996 - steel frame model isn't it? Will they let you take it out on a test day first?

Jim,
I've had the same thoughts...though wifie is a little less enthusiastic!
Anyway, I was thinking of exactly the same bike...here are some other thoughts...there are TONS of GS500's, SV650's, Honda 650 Hawks, etc, that have been "race-prepped" for even less money than that. If (when?) you throw one of those down the track, you really won't care, NTM no bodywork to fix. There is some great local racing in the BOTT (battle of the twins) classes here as well.
Bef, yeah, I hear you. There is an RS250 for sale locally with tons of spares for about $6500...
By Befbever on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 - 10:07 am: |
Would that be a Honda RS250?
If it's an Aprilia roadbike: no offense to our Racer Boy, but that's what it is, a roadbike.
Breaks kinda easily with Trev on it from what I hear.
eh Trev?

Oh dear, I have not laughed as much for a long time
Jim? Does the bike come with weight saving parts too?
Only kidding buddy, but any road R6 would play games with it's power
Jim if you want to get serious about it, do as Racer suggested and go for "twins battle".
With your torque, buddy, a twin is the best option
Not here goneeeeeeeee
Bef, did you say two 250?

whatever you get make, sure you have a big sack of cash cos once you get the bug the spending will never stop until youve beaten Rossi to the burger stall
If its a two stroke make sure its an even bigger sack of cash (and throw in some spare cranks, pistons, bearings, cylinders, gudgeon pins, gearboxes, crankcases, bones.....)
Why not buy a brand new Manx Norton? ...They dont make em like they used too..hehe
...they dont leak!
I know where theres a two year old (post TT winner) for sale. I thinks its 19000 UKP ono
Bargain!

You weren't expecting a serious reply, were you?

My mummy says I'm not allowed to come out to play with you big nasty bullies, so there!
By Befbever on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 - 10:43 am: |
Trev,
tell your mummy: all work and no play makes Mental a Dull Boy.
Jorge, was that a sneer at Jim's weight? If it was, may I say he sure looks buff to me. If it was one at mine, I will say nothing about it.
We seem to have so far covered School, Racer, New and now Dull. What's next? Dirty?
By Powermaster on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 - 12:30 pm: |
@Bef, I got it, Tomoko did not,
Dirty
By Befbever on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 - 01:01 pm: |
In that case, @ Tomoko!

Sounds like an inside joke to me...
By Powermaster on Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 12:18 am: |
Racer did not get it either

Get what?
By Mental_Trev on Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 02:29 am: |
Why would I take offence? I race in the SuperSport class which, by definition, is populated entirely by production road bikes (albeit wearing slightly different clothes and living on a slightly more highly refined diet).

By Crmc33 on Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 10:40 pm: |
