Just went out for a short ride round the local roads near the Polish border and had the chance to fully test the Falco's acceleration.
On hard acceleration I noticed that my clutch didnt slip, even in first gear.
This has obviously worried me since. Is this normal? Should I try a different engine oil so that it does slip?
At this rate I will wear my rear tyre out far too quickly and theyre very expensive!
Any advise welcome.
Must go, Teletubbies is just starting.

C., don't go riding out there no more. I hear the Polish get very nervous when they see a lot of German license plates near their border. Something to do with an event in 1939 I reckon.
I think you should try a different engine oil. Try this link
Hope this helps and if it doesn't, hope it entertains.

I just spent 2 hours trying your suggested oil and slippage did occur.
Thanks, you have saved my rear tyre..
My Salad looks a bit sad tho.

I wondered where the bullet holes in the fairing had come from?
Maybe I should put a big union jack on the side of my bike instead?!....and get shot at by the germans and polish!

Here we go...next thing you'll be asking for the US to bail you out!
Then, if you're French, you can tell the whole world you were just about to get the upper hand when we showed up and took all the credit, riiiight....

I have a few questions about changing the clutch.
If I intend to put a new clutch are they better now or should I try a RSV-one on the falco if it is possible?
|By Befbever on Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 12:34 pm:|
no, they're not. They're still the same clutches. 90 Euro for the frictions at your dealer's. I would advise to replace the steels as well, they should be covered by warranty.
You could use the RSV one though. The frictions are supposed to be much better. It'll set you back, frictions only, 300 Euro.
Hope this helps.

IMHO, Its 300 Euro well spent if it cures the slipping without the need for stronger springs or regular abrading of the steels.
But what do I know eh!
